SMRT to roll out AI system to boost reliability of North-South, East-West lines by end-2024
An AI system that allows a train operator to respond quicker to minor faults has led to fewer delays for commuters. After two years of use on the Circle Line, SMRT said the initiative has also helped shorten delays, when they do happen. The Overwatch display shows where every train on the Circle Line is, and the time spent at each station. SMRT will roll out Overwatch to the North-South and East-West Lines by the end of next year. It will then be implemented on the Thomson-East Coast Line.
