Alberta researchers create AI machine learning tool to detect opioid risk
Artificial Intelligence (AI) Researchers in Alberta are working on a machine learning tool to help detect opioid risk—and early results are looking promising.
While doctors have a set protocol to identify patients at risk of opioid addiction, Dr. Dean Eurich said machine learning “could do a better job” of pinning down who is most susceptible.
As Katherine Ward reports, the tool will use artificial intelligence to help medical professionals predict which patients might face adverse outcomes.
