I want to reiterate that Gen-1 is not replacing a job for someone who knows how to animate. The tools that help artists animate are constantly evolving and getting better and easier to use. For example, rotoscoping tools have improved drastically with the help of Ai in our software, e.g. Rotobrush tool, making it faster than ever to cut out scenes and apply fx. Gen-1 is the next iteration of that. We will still need artists, animators, and other creatives to work with these new tools and supply expertise, vision, prompts, and framework.
Animation & other VFX can take a very long time, with Gen-1 and other groundbreaking Ai tools, we can generate new ideas faster and bring to life new ideas we never thought were possible, this is why Gen-1 is exciting for me.
But I get it. Change is scary. Historically people don’t like change. People were skeptical about “talking” films and TVs in the 1930s to 50s and the new emergence of fast “digital” non-linear video editing systems in the 80s and 90s also brought about a kind of excitement that we see today with Ai. Change and growth is inevitable, so let’s embrace it into our workflow!
