“Challenge accepted…” Tech Mahindra MD’s reply to Open AI CEO Sam Altman’s ‘hopeless’ remark
Recently, Open AI CEO Sam Altman sparked outrage with his comments during his India visit. At ET Conclave, Altman opined that “it is hopeless” for India to compete in developing ChatGPT-like AI. He made the remark while responding to Rajan Anandan, a venture capitalist and former head of Google India. Answering Anandan, Open AI CEO expressed his opinion, which triggered the netizens in India. Tech Mahindra MD & CEO CP Gurnani was quick to react as he responded sharply to Open AI CEO Sam Altman ‘hopeless’ remark. After Tech Mahindra CEO’s aspirational remarks, Rajan Anandan has also responded to Altman’s opinion. In a rebuttal to Altman, the former Google India head said, “Never underestimate Indian entrepreneurs”. Notably, Sam Altman during met Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his India visit on June 8. Altman lauded India’s “incredible tech ecosystem” and how the country can benefit from AI after meeting PM Modi.
