Will India bring about AI laws?

In June this year, Sam Altman, the CEO of OpenAI visited India. During his meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Altman highlighted the urgent need for regulating AI as it is evolving at a rapid pace. However, the country’s stance on AI laws and regulations has been hot and cold. Initially, India believed regulating AI could stifle innovation in the sector but steps are being taken to include AI regulation in the Digital India Bill.
