Excel query of .DAT or .CSV files (Part 1 of 2)

If you do not have access to a relational database management system like SQL Server or MySQL to manage your datalogger data, you may assume that you need to import huge Campbell Scientific .DAT files or other .CSV files into Excel just to be able to analyze a very small subset of your entire data archive. This video tutorial demonstrates how you can perform queries on large .DAT/.CSV files from Excel using external data connections instead of file imports. This approach enables you to more easily analyze your data and keep your data in one central location.
