Stock Market Today: Newmont Mining (NEM) Thrives, C3.ai (AI) Dives

The Dow Jones, S&P 500, Nasdaq-100, and the Russell 200 ended the day lower. Four out of the eleven SPX sectors ended higher. Newmont Mining (NEM) was among the best performers in the S&P 500 as Citigroup maintained its buy rating on the stock, but cut its price target to $60 from $70. C3.ai (AI) fell 26% after Kerrisdale Capital, who recently disclosed a short position in the stock, claims AI has serious accounting and disclosure issues.
