WTF is This AI Pin?

By now you’ve probably seen this viral AI pin. It’s gotten a lot of hype, so here’s what’s really going on: The idea of the Humane AI pin is that it’s a wearable AI assistant. It’s supposed to be able to recognize objects and answer questions about them (though it seemed to get some facts wrong in the actual demo…)

But bigger picture, whether or not people buy this particular pin, it’s part of a long, larger effort to create tech that gets our heads out of our phones…
