FTC Withdraws MSFT-ATVI Case & Big Tech A.I. Pledge

The FTC withdraws the case against Microsoft (MSFT) – Activision (ATVI) $75B deal. The Microsoft-Activision deal is still awaiting approval by U.K. regulators. Renita Young discusses this as well as the big tech A.I. pledge. Big tech agreed to make a series of promises to the White House to address risks posed by A.I. The promises are made voluntarily – currently there are no consequences if the companies fail to meet these promises. The promises include investments in cybersecurity, discrimination research, and watermarking system for A.I.-generated content. Amazon (AMZN), Meta Platforms (META), Alphabet (GOOGL), and Microsoft (MSFT) are among companies to meet with White House this week. Tune in to find out more about the stock market today.
